FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is tallow?

Tallow is rendered fat from cattle that has been used for centuries in skincare. It's rich in vitamins A, D, E, and K, and closely matches the composition of human skin.

How do I use tallow products?

Apply a pea-sized amount to damp or still-wet, freshly cleansed skin (yes, we know it feels counterintuitive to mix oil with water — but trust us, it’s much easier this way 🙂) and massage gently. Absorption time is about 30 minutes. If your skin feels slightly oily or sticky afterward, you may be using too much — simply adjust until you find your perfect balance. Once fully absorbed, it can be worn comfortably under makeup.

Is tallow suitable for all skin types?

Yes, tallow is generally well-tolerated by all skin types, including sensitive skin. However, if you have a beef allergy, please consult with your healthcare provider first.

Is castor oil safe to use during pregnency ?

Yes, in skincare, castor oil is generally safe when applied topically. Unlike oral use (which is sometimes used to induce labor and should be avoided unless supervised by a doctor), topical application in small amounts does not trigger contractions. Because skin can be more sensitive during pregnancy, we recommend doing a simple patch test before regular use: apply a pea-sized amount to a small area of skin and wait 24 hours to ensure no irritation occurs. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have any concerns, it’s always best to consult your healthcare provider before use.

How should I store my tallow products?

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Tallow can soften in warm temperatures but will firm up again when cooled.

What is your return policy?

We offer a 30-day satisfaction guarantee. If you're not completely happy with your purchase, contact us for a full refund.

How long does shipping take?

Orders typically ship within 1-2 business days. Delivery times vary by location but usually take 3-7 business days within Canada.

Why don’t you add more Manuka honey if it’s so powerful? And how can you sell a jar at such a low price if the honey is so expensive?

When we first developed Prestige Butter, our idea was to add a very high amount of Manuka honey and sell it at a much higher price point. After all, Manuka with an MGO rating of 1700+ can cost over $2,000 CAD per pound. But after testing more than 100 recipe variations, we discovered that “more” isn’t always better. Adding too much honey made the texture sticky and blocked proper absorption. Through months of refinement, we found the perfection point — the highest concentration possible before the butter’s texture and absorption would be compromised. This is what makes Prestige Butter so unique: a balance of power and performance, offered at a price that stays accessible

Even in small amounts, this rare honey transforms the formula. Its antibacterial, soothing, and age-defying properties work best when balanced — enough to deliver its full benefit, while keeping the butter cloud-light, smooth, and deeply absorbent.

That balance is the essence of our craft: precision over excess. Every jar is designed to perform beautifully and feel luxurious on your skin, without compromise.
